My students are innovative and eager to learn new things! A very diverse group who embrace learning and desire to learn more.
The tie that binds all of my students is their desire to learn new things in innovative ways.
Every day my students ask me questions about something they have seen and want to learn more about, what they are currently learning about, or how to make connections with what they have learned.
Our class is learning how to effectively collaborate with one another. It is important that they are not always interacting with the same peers. It has been interesting to watch the students as they realize that talking to other students becomes an interesting experience both academically and socially.
Finally, our class strives daily to make learning make sense. Thus, across subjects, my students desire to find out "How does this pertain to our world today?" The amazing element is when another student answers that question! Of course, if that information is not readily available they proceed to research to find the answers.
Our classroom is set up to support a variety of learning styles. As a visual learner, I understand the importance of seeing and hearing information. The easel will allow students to see the content modeled as well as help create the anchor charts used to develop their learning. The movement of the easel will allow students to access it from different areas within the classroom or in another learning environment.
The class rug will allow students to gather together as a learning community.
They will be able to effectively communicate and closely interact with their peers in the learning environment.
