My Project

For students with disabilities, accessing traditional books can often be a challenge due to various barriers such as reading comprehension difficulties, visual impairments, or lack of engagement with dense texts. Manga, with its combination of compelling visuals and concise dialogue, offers a unique way to engage these learners. The illustrations provide context that helps decode the narrative, making it easier for students to follow the story and comprehend complex ideas.

For struggling readers, including those with disabilities like dyslexia, ADHD, or autism, Manga can serve as a gateway to develop reading skills and build confidence.

The format is less intimidating than traditional books and allows students to process information at their own pace. Furthermore, the engaging nature of Manga fosters a sense of accomplishment and enjoyment in reading, which can be transformative for students who might otherwise shy away from literacy activities.

By adding Manga to our classroom library, we can create a more inclusive environment where every student feels empowered to explore, enjoy, and grow their reading abilities, regardless of their challenges.
