My Students

My students are a group of amazing fourth and fifth graders who are a part of the anime/book club. Although the students are from various socio-economic and cultural backgrounds they all share a passion for anime and books. In the club, the students read books and mangas associated with animes and discuss them with each other. Our goal for this club is to make reading more fun for the students while expanding their critical thinking skills.

My Project

These materials will make a difference in my student's learning by exposing them to a new genre of books. While most of them have watched the animes associated with the series, none of them have read the mangas. My goal is to introduce the students in a book club to these mangas and motivate them to read them in addition to watching the animes. I believe that by getting these books my students will be able to expand their vocabulary, critical thinking skills, and joy for reading. Thank you for your support.
