it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students visited a neighboring middle school and were amazed by the manga collection their librarian had amassed. We have many avid manga readers and anime fans at our school, and I cannot seem to keep enough of these books on the shelves. Every day a student comes in to request a different manga series or put a manga book on hold.
Help us grow our manga collection to engage readers and increase student excitement about visiting the library! Our library is a welcoming, kid-centered space. I can show that we are responsive to student interests by stocking the shelves with the books they are requesting. Because manga come in series, you can guarantee that students will come back for more which is an excellent way to grow their literacy skills. Plus, students are excited to form clubs related to manga, and having more books will help build community around shared interests.
