This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a school counselor, I’ve learned that children aren’t always able to identify and express their emotions readily. They sometimes require tools as a support to identify and express their feelings.

Books are the biggest supportive tool for children to learn how to cope with their emotions.

Through the stories and characters in books, children are able to identify their own personal challenges and learn how to overcome them. During and after reading a book to children, I often hear them share how they went through something similar to the characters in the book but were either too scared or embarrassed to talk about it.

I want to share a diverse array of books with my students where they can learn to express and manage their emotions. Please help me provide this for my students.
