Our school serves students in grades Pre-K through Fifth. I teach at an elementary school in a high-poverty urban setting. The school is currently a Title I school. My students come to school daily looking to be challenged and knowing that our school is a safe place where learning is fun and engaging.
Since money is in short supply, I am always looking for ways to help bring exciting new materials into the school.
I would love to be able to provide every teacher with this program to use within their classrooms!
Each morning we are greeted by some of the most enthusiastic and motivated students. It is our goal to produce students who question the world around them and who will see a problem as an opportunity to create a solution that will ultimately change the world.
Many of my students need multiple ways to interact with the curriculum. Allowing them access to Nearpod will give this opportunity. Through Nearpod I will be able to create lessons that students can access on their own, or while in class.
Students will be able to use this platform during at-home learning throughout the year.
The use of Nearpod will enhance my classroom with built-in functions that me to give my students the opportunity to communicate with their peers, and ensures participation and collaboration. Nearpod offers ready-made lessons or teacher made. Having the use of Nearpod, my students will be able to streamline their learning through module-based instruction that includes virtual field trips, videos, reading materials, polls, questions, and collaboration. Students are able to self-pace or interact with the class during a teacher led Nearpod lesson.
