My Project

My students are enthusiastic learners who have been the first to pilot a new phonics program. This massive shift in reading has given them the tools needed to be successful readers. I am so proud of each of them and how they have taken on the challenge and shifted their learning mindset to the Science of Reading mindset.

My project will provide students with multi-sensory materials to improve phonemic awareness, phonics, and reading comprehension skills.

Multi-sensory instruction combines listening, speaking, reading, and tactile or kinesthetic activity. The CVC word spelling chips, Elkonin boxes, magnetic wands, and Bob books all apply to the Science of reading Mindset. These materials are an amazing tool for all students to use!
