My Project

In our preschool special education classroom, we have the joy of working with young learners who experience the world in different ways. Some of our students are on the autism spectrum, others have sensory processing challenges, and many are learning how to regulate their emotions and interact with their environment. Every child brings their own strengths and needs, and our goal is to create a supportive, engaging space where they can feel safe, comfortable, and ready to learn.

Sensory toys play an important role in helping our students develop essential skills.

Items like fidget tools, textured toys, and visual stimulation objects can provide comfort, encourage focus, and support self-regulation. These tools help students navigate overwhelming sensory experiences, allowing them to participate in classroom activities, build communication skills, and develop confidence in their abilities. When students have access to sensory supports, they are better able to engage with their peers, express themselves, and grow in ways that feel natural to them.

These resources make a meaningful difference in our students’ daily experiences, offering them the tools they need to explore, learn, and find joy in their education.
