My Students

My first-grade students are excited learners that are full of questions. At this lower elementary level, there are so many new experiences to be had and it is important to keep my students engaged and eager to learn more.

Inspiring my students with hands on activities encourages them to become lifelong learners.

Our school is a founding school of the Great Kindness Challenge. We focus not only on high expectations academically, but also emphasize being good citizens. Our school has a strong sense of community where we all work together and enjoy sharing our ideas and experiences with each other.

My Project

This project will bring many different science lessons to life. In first grade science, we focus on light waves and solar system patterns. With this project, we will be able to make observations, plan and conduct investigations, and use materials to design a solution.

This project will allow our class to engage in more project based learning activities.

Project based learning encourages students to investigate and respond to authentic questions and challenges. My students need flash lights to test different light sources, recognize how light travels, and cast shadows. Students will be able to recognize patterns on the interactive globe and use the flash lights and the globe to recreate seasonal patterns. My students deserve to experience hands on science so they can connect our lessons to their lives.
