Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

For two months my students have been Remote Learning. In the classroom, they were struggling to learn second and third grade curriculum due to attentional, behavioral, sensory, processing, and learning issues. At home, they are struggling, even more, to attend and stay focused and motivated. Many of my students' parents are essential workers and so are struggling to work and now help us teach their children with special needs. All of my students are eligible for free lunch. All are lacking the school supplies needed to make the concepts we are teaching concrete during Remote Learning.

My Project

We have been Remote Learning for almost 2 months now. My students need learning to be as multi-sensory, active, and relevant as possible. Many of my students lack the school supplies necessary to make Remote Learning in any way hands-on or multi-sensory.

The materials I am requesting are general school supplies to ensure that my students have the basics for learning, as well as manipulatives to allow them to see and work with the concepts taught in very visual and concrete ways.

The manipulatives will help them to see and interact with the curriculum so that it is meaningful to them.
