Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a fourth grade reading and writing teacher, it is important for me to provide the necessary materials and instruction for my students to be successful in the classroom. My fourth graders come from very different families and backgrounds in one of the largest school districts in the state of Texas.

We are a Title I school in a district that is economically disadvantaged with a very diverse group of students who enjoy coming to school every day.

Please consider helping me help my students reach their full potential this year.

My Project

The materials in this project will enhance student learning by allowing them access to authentic texts. It's important to expose children to real people who have made a difference in this world to encourage children to take action. The book boxes will help students have their own place to store their books.

The whisper phones will be very helpful in aiding students as they whisper read to themselves during independent reading and when reading their writing.

I've found it's very helpful for students to practice whisper reading their writing to themselves, so the phones will be a huge help during the revising and editing stages in the writing process.
