My Project

The use of books is a part of our daily routine in the classroom! Students love to read books after breakfast, while waiting for other students to finish their work and during any free time possible. Students learn many skills while looking at books in a pre-kindergarten setting. These skills include; how to hold a book correctly, Title, Author, Illustrator, letter and word recognition, how to read a story using picture cues, etc. Many students in my classroom do not have access to a home library. Giving students the opportunity to view an array of different books will help them build background knowledge and increase their love for learning.

Having seat packs to store books at their seats will help my students have easy access to the books of their choice anytime during the day and keep their books in good condition.

Students will love the assortment of books about feelings, dinosaurs, unicorns, etc. I am also excited for them to use the boards to draw pictures about these books as well!
