This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

"Making Quality Materials in 2nd Grade" is a DonorsChoose.org project aimed at enhancing learning experiences for my incredible 2nd graders at Tubman Elementary, a Title I school in Washington, D.C. Our classroom thrives with diverse learners, including many multilingual students, who benefit greatly from clear, engaging visuals and well-designed learning materials.

The requested materials—laminating sheets, colored printer ink, chart paper, markers, highlighters, and Teacher’s Pay Teachers gift cards—will help us create durable, vibrant resources that captivate students’ attention and support their understanding.

Laminating sheets ensure that frequently used visuals and manipulatives last for years, while colored printer ink enables us to print vivid images and activities that aid comprehension. Chart paper and markers help us create interactive displays and anchor charts, which provide constant reference points for students. Highlighters will empower students to engage actively in reading and writing tasks, emphasizing key information.

The goal of this project is to foster an inclusive, engaging classroom where students feel supported and inspired to learn. My students are special because of their resilience, curiosity, and eagerness to grow. They come from diverse backgrounds, bringing unique perspectives to our classroom community.
