Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are humble, gracious, motivated, and caring despite the challenges they encounter. My school is located in Corona, Queens, which is comprised of more than 90% low-income families. This community was hit hard by the COVID pandemic. It was basically the hub of the outbreak.

Due to language barriers, limited job offerings and layoffs, many of these children do not have access to printers and cannot afford to buy simple supplies such as poster boards.

My Project

A color printer/scanner will help to enhance my students' writing. Many of them do not have access to a printer. In school, they will be able to print photos and charts and graphs, for our research papers. It will also help to have the poster board to create a project for their research so that they can work on speaking skills and language.

Being able to scan their research will bring their stories to life because we will be creating a virtual library.

They will be able to continue to edit their work, whether we are at home or in school. Students, will be able to send me information, that I can then print for them in class.
