My Project

Students spend so much time at school. It should be as enjoyable as possible.

I want our classroom to be a place where they are comfortable and feels inviting to them.

My goal is to enhance the classroom so that it meets their needs and provides them with encouragement and support. Most of the items are decorations, but I want the decorations to be uplifting. I don't want them just looking at things on the wall. I want those things to inspire them.

Maslow's hierarchy of needs tells me that students need their physical needs met before we can even think about learning. Some of the items on the list are intended to do that such as snacks, water, and feminine products. Others are meant to meet their needs for safety and belonging, encouraging signage and spare Chromebook chargers.

Overall, I want our classroom to be a safe space for students where they feel seen and validated; an environment conducive for them to learn and be their best selves.
