This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hello from a brand new Special Ed Teacher at a Title I school! I'm seeking to furnish my classroom with the essentials that will help me nurture, educate, support and encourage my students. The reading/quiet nook is in serious need of some comfort, which the bean bag chair and pillows will provide. Those items plus the computer riser desk will also provide flexible seating options throughout the room. Along with flexible seating I intend to offer a safe space for each students belongings with the chairback pockets at each of their assigned seats.

It is so important to provide a safe haven for these children to learn in!

Oftentimes students come to school hungry, tired and stressed. Working in a Title I school, statistically and typically, those are a majority of my students. As I am able to offer them snacks when needed, and a warm inviting environment, I see the students ready to excel in school. With the colorful math anchor charts in place, once they are settled in to learn they are quickly able to see the information they need.

Thank you for your consideration of supporting these lovely students. They are kind, helpful and fun! They deserve to have a comfortable safe space to learn and grow.
