My Students

My students are movers and shakers and music makers! They adore creating music and playing instruments. I teach in a

Title 1 school with 54% of our students getting free or reduced lunch.

My students are a beautiful variety of nationalities who bring a rich cultural heritage with them. I also have an increasing amount of students with physical and behavioral challenges who would benefit from music making opportunities.

My Project

As the school music teacher in a diverse Title 1 school district with over 50 percent of students receiving free or reduced lunch, I have a few items that will help me get our school music room up and running for this school year. My students will be needing to be spaced apart for being seated and having a ground base for musical movement and spread apart singing. We also plan on using the great outdoors to stay safe with singing and we will need a bluetooth speaker to play our music outdoors. I plan on making many take home materials for students to continue practicing their music literacy skills and will need to use a laminator for those items. Thank you for helping me make the empty music classroom (no chairs, tables, or benches) be a safe and dynamic space for learning!!!
