Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Sarcasm, laughter, patience, perseverance... I work with the most amazing middle school students at a Title 1 urban charter school! Distance learning was a challenge and we did everything we could to make the most of this year back in person. My students worked hard to close gaps and build math skills. After reflecting on this year, it was clear that there are things that I could provide to bring a more fun and tangible math learning experience.

Middle school students deserve high quality manipulatives and resources to support their math learning.

My goal is to set up a classroom with opportunities for students to work in small groups, use engaging resources, and have fun extension activities to build their math knowledge and confidence. I am requesting some furniture to create a small group work space, math manipulatives to help with hands on learning of math concepts, and math games to provide extension activities and fun ways to practice math skills.
