My Project

My math classroom is focused on getting students thinking critically, creatively, and collaboratively about mathematics. Each day, we typically tackle one challenging problem with multiple paths to the solution, and much of the learning centers on students sharing their mathematical reasoning in groups and as a whole class.

To show student work, I have to run their papers to my document camera during our discussions, but this iPad will allow students to show their thinking to the class in real-time as they are explaining.

In addition to supporting students in sharing their mathematical thinking, this iPad will allow me to create more engaging visuals than I can currently make with pens and paper. These visuals help all students, but especially those with special learning needs.

Lastly, this iPad will allow me to save key concepts and ideas from class each day, which I can then post online for students who are out sick.
