My Project

Part of being a kindergartener is learning to explore new things independently. A lot of my students struggle with working alone or without an adult present the entire time. In my classroom I am are working hard to foster creativity and independence. These tools will help my student achieve both.

These items will encourage students to choose their own math activity and begin exploring it without continual adult supervision.

The pencil boxes will hold a variety of math games for students to choose from. Being able to see the activity they are choosing will give students a sense of ownership in their learning and encourage them to pursue more activities that are of interest to them. This will also allow students to stay organized and learn how to care for their materials.

The plastic lamination sleeves will be used to laminate math game boards. This will allow student to easily fix their mistakes while writing with a dry erase marker during their math games. Many students become upset when writing and erasing with paper and pencil. Dry erase surfaces are a more forgiving writing medium that encourage exploration and creativity.
