Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My school district has adopted a new math curriculum. This curriculum is fantastic! However, it requires a few supplies to allow my 3rd graders to fully engage in the lessons the way they were meant to be. All of these supplies are listed in the curriculum's required items.

Math is much easier to learn when you can see it!

3rd-grade math starts to delve into measurement, area/perimeter, and fractions which are concepts that are easier to retain when seen and manipulated. The tiles are useful to help teach surface area. The scales are incredibly useful when teaching the difference between grams and kilograms, and the rekenrek is a useful tool to model parts that make up a whole when learning about fractions.

Please help my students fully utilize their new math curriculum to its full potential by aiding them with a few basic supplies that will help them create and manipulate math concepts!
