My Students

My students are amazing! They are excited to learn and work hard to excel beyond the limitations of their neighborhood.

They love to learn, create and play and are inspiring to all who work with them!

My second graders all come from low-income areas and often do not have the necessary resources at home to extend the school day beyond our classroom. They are hard workers and do everything they can to be successful! My second graders are absolutely fabulous kids!

My Project

My students are engaged in every aspect of their learning. They try with all their might to stay focused in class. However, our math curriculum isn't fancy; it's not pretty to look at and the practice isn't as fun as it could be. I try like a maniac to put on a show for my kids, to make math exciting and engaging while I am teaching what feels like twenty math strategies a week. The materials we are requesting would make a huge difference in my classroom because my children are hard workers who enjoy taking a break from the daily grind to engage in interactive learning with me and their classmates in small learning teams. All of these materials, especially the pre-made centers and the regrouping stations, will put the learning in the children's hands! They'll be in the spotlight, guiding their learning and facilitating their own small groups.
