My Students

My second grade class is a diverse group of students who are excited to learn in a safe and welcoming environment. I teach for the largest district in our state. We are not a Title I school, so funding is limited. We have over 775 students enrolled in our school.

The children are energetic learners, and I need your help to support their learning needs.

I have 25 vibrant students in my class. I am new to this school and need some supplies that I had to leave at my previous school.

My Project

Many of my students' parents have expressed concerns about not knowing how to help their children complete math homework because they are unfamiliar with how our curriculum teaches math. These materials will be used to host a Math Family Night in my classroom after school. Students will explain the various math strategies we have learned in class to their families and provide them with a handout. We will reinforce these mathematical methods using dice, cards and dominoes.

Each family will leave Math Family Night with a baggie of die, deck of cards and set of dominoes along with a booklet of activities and games to reinforce math skills at home.

Students will play some of the games from the booklet during our Math Family Night.
