Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students will walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. We are a real melting pot as my students come from all walks of life and different cultures.

We are a Dual Language class, and this adds an extra challenge to kindergarten.

My students are accessing general education content in two languages (English/ Spanish). They are an energetic group of kindergarteners. We celebrate little wins together each day in both words. I seek to prepare our bilingual students to tackle the ever-changing world that demands a multitude of languages.

My Project

Math is critical for kindergarten. These math centers will provide my students with a variety of tools to keep the love for math going. When playing with the addition and subtraction centers they can practice the math skills learn in class while they help each other learning. All the games will be shared in class.

While having fun and playing with their friends, they will help create an environment of respect.

In order to keep them engaged in learning, I like to incorporate different activities that are hands-on because they learn the best through "play". The shapes centers will help my students to reinforce their knowledge of flat and 3D shapes, while the counters and magnet tiles help them develop counting skills and number sense.
