My Students

Teaching in a school with low-income families is a daily challenge for my students both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, my students are always ready to learn and look forward to coming to my class.

My students are AWESOME, SMART, CREATIVE, and always willing to help one another which is a great quality to have in a classroom.

They love physical education, reading, math and love positive attention with some good laughs. Some of my students are being raised in single parent households. All my students receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. Some of their factors may prevent them from getting ahead early in life. The minute they walk in my classroom I focus on their potential and ability to growth. We cheer each other on as our classmates make progress and encourage those that need more help. As an educator I try to provide the best possible environment where they can feel safe, feel free to make mistakes, and best of all learn!!!

My Project

Using manipulatives, whiteboards, and math games will make a huge impact on our students learning experience. It will help students enjoy learning math in many ways and make math FUN and interactive. Allowing students the flexibility to learn in different ways is beneficial in developing great number sense. Our students already show great interest on the small inventory of manipulatives we have and we are hoping we can provide more resources for their needs. We hope to increase student interest and participation as it has been a challenge to engage students after this pandemic.
