Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 2nd grade Math where the scholars are building the necessary foundation to be successful in 3rd grade and rock the star test. Unique, caring, and loving is how I would describe my scholars. They are so eager to learn and apply what they learned. They love hands-on math where they can “brag” to the teacher and their parents about how much they know. Their excitement is contagious and it warms your heart to see them excited about learning.

My Project

It’s important to provide station activities where students can explore, communicate, and demonstrate what they have learned in creative ways. Many students learn by application and many times they don’t realize what they have learned because they’re having too much fun. It is equally important for teachers to provide variety so that each scholars learning style is addressed. Students become more excited about school and the educational process when they enjoy what they are doing so why not incorporate what they enjoy most to ensure they are comprehending the information. This ensures that ALL students are successful, happy and productive.
