Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I have the wonderful opportunity to teach a great group of third grade gifted and talented students in a Title I school in Richmond Hill, Queens. My students are often bored with their Everyday Mathematics curriculum. They never have a chance to challenge their minds to think outside the box. I would like to start a geometric origami unit to challenge their minds. Geometric or modular origami calls on the students to not only become spatially aware, but to use their awareness to configure multi-piece origami units such as a Sonobe Cube. Your donation of origami paper and books will allow these gifted students to really challenge their minds!
