Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My second graders come to school every day eager to learn and interact with their friends. This group of enthusiastic students spends the majority of their day collaborating, making sense of new learning, and engaging in group discussions.

Creating an inviting meeting area where my students can meet as a community of learners is an essential part of our classroom learning environment.

In our meeting area, my students engage in classroom discussions, share ideas, and model their thinking.

A mobile easel in our meeting area is an essential tool to display visuals at students' eye level. Some of those visuals include number patterns, mentor text, and magnetic letters to support phonic instruction. Having an easel in my classroom meeting area displaying visuals during our daily instruction and discussions will help my students sustain their attention and increase their engagement during our daily lessons.
