Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very sweet, compassionate little beings. Most of them try their hardest at every thing they do in kindergarten. They are special because they are caring and considerate. Did I mention they try very hard? I love being a teacher of kindergarten because they are ready to learn and eager to make friends and have fun. One of my little students said to me, “Mrs. Ewen, look, look, I found all the letter Cs and letter Ns that I could. Do I get a blue color because I did super good?”

Another student said to me, “You’re a mom??

Can I call you mommy?”

They are the sweetest hardworking lovebugs I have met.

My Project

These materials would make a difference in students’ learning because we need to print activities for the students to use. The students need to have access to these resources in order to make their learning meaningful.

The school that we attend is an elementary school in the Bronx.

It is a magnet school and an Expeditionary Learning school. An "EL" school means that is the curriculum we are using which incorporates many project based learning processes. The students need templates, and examples that need to be printed for them to refer to. Recently the staff was told they could not use the homework lab for printing. I am hoping that maybe you can help us by providing this printer and ink.

Students would not be able to make their thinking and learning visible without this printer. I hope you can help!
