Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a class of 36 fifth graders starting off an exciting year of growth and challenges! I have been lucky enough to teach at a small, amazing, title one school where I am the only full fifth grade teacher. My students are a wonderful group who each have their own unique strengths and challenges. They are passionate about learning, and have a love for working hard. In our classroom, each and every student is a part of our family and community. Because of our school size, it has given us the opportunity to build such great relationships over the years. With a full, huge class comes so many different needs and strategies with each student, and I am looking forward to helping them reach their fullest abilities! With Distance Learning comes new opportunities to get creative. I am hoping to bring new things to the virtual classroom that will help my students thrive!

My Project

Because so many friends donated to our class, we have the opportunity to add more STEM supplies to our classroom! Whether it be furthering our garden experience, creating models, or making real-life reactions to further explain different concepts, these supplies will help us take our learning even deeper. Students will be able to use these supplies to help protect them while learning, as well as to transport things from home to school to help support learning about composting. Students will also get to see things in our environment grown and develop first hand with these new resources. We are so excited to watch our learning grow!
