Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom consists of 18 Kindergarten students, all from different backgrounds and learning styles. The majority of my students are entering school for their first time and are learning English as their second language. Every day as I greet them, they enter my classroom smiling, happy and eager to begin their day of learning.

These five and six year old students have a world ahead of them, Kindergarten is just the beginning of their educational journey.

Having the privilege of being their teacher and seeing the joy in their faces as they make new learning discoveries each day is priceless.

My Project

Our school district has a variety of online resources and programs available to our students. These programs are additionally becoming requirements in their daily lessons and instruction to better prepare students for state testing. Yes, even testing at an early grade level, Kindergarten. Student access to technology and internet is scarce at home for many of my students. In our classroom, the amount of functioning computers available to our students is very limited.

With the addition of a Surface Pro, my students will be able to increase their usage of great Mathematics and Science online resources available to them.

The item I have chosen for my class project will definitely give more of my students the opportunity to meet their required online program usage. Students will also be able to view and access their class books, view videos in which they can learn through different strategies. Adding a Surface Pro to our classroom will be a great instructional tool with which students will learn and have fun at the same time making learning more enjoyable for them.
