Making Kindegartener Readers and Writers

Help me give my students a new classroom carpet. I teach Kindergarten and we do a lot of activities and learning on the carpet and the one I have is just so worn out.

My Project

I am piloting a new Phonic program for our school district, UFLI.

A lot of our time is spent on the carpet doing whole group instruction.

My carpet is small, and it is very crowded when trying to add manipulatives to the lesson. We use cookie sheets with magnetic letters to build, read, and write words and then sentences.

A new larger carpet would make this activity easier for me to get around to support students who are struggling and celebrate students completing the tasks.

I am so pleased with the progress my students are making with this new Phonics program and will be recommending it for our school district. A new carpet would make it easier to effectively implement this program.
