This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Having friends is key to living an enjoyable life. It helps combat feelings of loneliness and isolation while building confidence and self-worth. Friends can help you navigate through difficult times with words of encouragement and an empathetic ear. Building friendships also creates a sense of belonging. When students feel accepted, they are more likely to be actively present. This improves attendance and graduation rates in the long run.

"Laughter is the best medicine!" What better way to create positive and meaningful experiences than with conversation and a snack?

Please help me provide my students with the tools needed to break the ice. Your donations will be greatly appreciated and will make a considerable difference in the social development of our students.

Working with a population of newcomers from around the world can be challenging. However, we can help students build relationships by creating platforms where they can get to know each other personally, enhance their communication and language skills, understand and appreciate different cultures and traditions, and show genuine care and respect.
