Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This is my second year as a reading intervention teacher. Throughout the day I work with many groups of 3rd-5th grade students with the goal of helping them reach grade level expectations for reading. Many students have been struggling to catch up after many years of disrupted learning. Last year I saw a large amount of growth from all my students and I am excited to see that growth again this year!

All of the items requested in this project, make decoding fun and engaging for students!

These activities would be use by students to practice the sounds they are learning in a fun and engaging way. With many of these items students would collaborate together to and provide feedback to one another.

I currently have two different versions of Splash and students love them! The versions I am asking for in this project would be used by students who are learning how to decode CVC words, blends, and digraphs. The twist and turn phonics rods and word building books would provide students a tool they can use to practice automaticity with the new sounds they are learning. The handwriting boards would be used by students receiving a specific handwriting intervention. All of the items requested in this project would help support my intervention groups.
