Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My elective art class consists of all special education students with a variety of disabilities. We are a Title I school, where students are able to receive free lunch and breakfast. My school consists of almost 2,000 students, many who speak various languages. While language may be a challenge, Art is something all cultures can relate to.

Students in my school face many challenges and often see school as a fun and exciting place to be.

Art should be one of their most favorite classes where they can express themselves individually and grow creatively as a young adult.

My Project

We need crayons, glue, Charcoal pencils, Canvas paper, Sketchbook paper, Blending tools (torillons), Tissue Paper Squares, Paint and Paintbrushes to create beautiful designs, portraits and still life images! These materials will positively impact my students! I am eager to bring all aspects of art to my self-contained students. I wish for them to create still life images, blending and shading with the proper tools to really portray the image they see in front of them. I want them to paint a canvas that they can be proud to frame or utilize various colors from a scrunched tissue paper array to create an amazing image.

While I am not well versed in Art, I aim to be for my students and your donation will help immensely!

These tools will help us achieve our goal of being true Artists!
