My Students

My students live in a diverse neighborhood in the north Bronx in New York City. They are from Bangladesh, Ghana, Yemen, Dominican Republic, Harlem, and more. What they have in common is their curiosity! They are smart, engaged and engaging, thoughtful, and always ready to take on new challenges. My job is ESL teacher, which means that I'm helping them find ways to express themselves, and I love getting to know them. They inspire me every day and I can't wait to see where they go.

My Project

My students will have a challenging time coming back to school, and I think a sewing project will be a great transition!

Making clothes together will be a great ater-school acitivity, and the perfect fabric and supplies will make our plans go smoothly!

We are excited to use these fabrics and notions to make shirts. The books will help us with our pattern making, and the quilt ruler will make sure we keep our lines straight. I know that a lot of fun, and thread, will go into this project!
