Through your generous donation my students are able to connect with the world of literacy by using the items needed to create adapted books. I teach students with multiple disabilities. My students have physical and mental disabilities which makes it difficult for them to understand and connect with educational books read to them. My students are cognitively low functioning. The idea of creating adapted books using Mejor Johnson symbols assist my students with understanding and connecting to educational concepts in a different way.

Unlike students with normal range of intelligence, my students need adapted books that are created by teachers. We create these books in order to bring the concept of what we are teaching to the students understanding. My students also have sever communication delays. The books are also created to assist the students with everyday communication needs and wants.

The heavy duty book binder, the binders,the laminating machine, the laminating machine pouches, and the books covers is what is needed. The project will serve and benefit my students because it would allow them to have age appropriate curriculum created to their understanding.

You help will ensure my students will be able to learn the same academic material as other students.
