Help me give my students pants and underwear that is needed when they don't make it to the bathroom or spill lunch or other materials on themselves. We have a lot of students who have special needs challenges.
As supporters of lifelong learning, our preschool and pre-kindergarten staff serve three- to five-year-old children on the west side of Indianapolis, Indiana. Many of our families live in poverty and 59% of our children receive special education services. Our children come from a variety of incomes, cultures, family units, and have special needs. As our children return to in-person education, they need items that support their learning and feeling comfortable during the day.
My Project
Our 3,4 &5 year old preschoolers are faced with challenges at home and at school. One big challenge is not making it to the bathroom on time, spilling their lunch or spilling materials in the classroom on their pants.
Since we are back to in-person learning, our numbers have soared to almost 400 students and the need for pants and underwear are even greater!
We receive donations of smaller sizes but we have a lot of need for larger sizes of pants and underwear. Our children cannot focus on learning when they are uncomfortable.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
