My students are energetic and eager to learn. We are in a high poverty, rural area where high-tech opportunities are few and far between.
The world around us is ever-changing, and the need for them to keep up with that world is at an all time high.
Our students thrive in technology and learn through hands-on learning experiences. These experiences will carry on with them through their adult lives as they learn useful skills.
My Project
The materials I am requesting are for third graders to create a makerspace in our school library. Makerspaces are places for students to create and build things through their imaginations.
These materials will make learning meaningful and useful in their everyday lives.
Students will learn how to use copper wire to make a LED light come on, and they will learn how to code a robot to travel through a paper brick track using Sphero. Osmos are another wonderful tool for the younger students to work on coding. Legos are an excellent tool for students to express their ideas, as well as creativity.
