My Students

We are a grade 4-6 school of about 900 students in suburban Pittsburgh, PA. With the creation of a schoolwide Makerspace, Compass Studio, STEAM concepts are integrated into many library and classroom lessons and activities. My students love to read, problem solve and collaborate. They take pride in their learning and work hard to prepare for the future.

My Project

The Makerspace is an eclectic room full of recycled materials in addition to new building materials and kits. Students utilize the Engineering Design Process when presented with a challenge. Sixth grade Maker Managers help to organize the space and keep it clean and tidy for the 900 students to use and create.

Storage is at a premium, so the addition of two shelves to hold student projects and ideas in-between classes is absolutely necessary.

The room is so full of materials for the students to use, that there aren't other open areas to keep projects. Please help keep our students organized and their hard work safe by providing shelving for projects.
