My Students

Our students are nothing short of amazing! We are the largest urban school district in our state and our students come from all walks of life from the middle class to the sometimes homeless and everywhere in between.

Despite their socioeconomic status or culture, they come to school ready to learn and have worked diligently to develop a very positive school community of learners with teachers, students, families and volunteers all playing a vital role.

Students range from 5 to 11 years old, and what a pleasure it is for me as their Librarian to work with them over the course of 6 years, to watch them grow, to learn and to achieve throughout their time at our amazing school.

My Project

Busy students need a variety of seating options and digital tools to accommodate and enhance our Library Makerspace.

Library patrons not only want to feel comfortable when they visit but have choice in their digital activities, too.

By adding a variety of seating options from balance chairs and flip chairs, students can take their seating with them to read, write or work on digital products.

Our Makerspace program is always changing and evolving. With a focus on digital production, we can completely revamp our production room to become a green screen studio for films, stop motion films with stickbots and add quality sound with new microphones for iPads and video cameras.
