My Students

I teach in a very large school with a high population of immigrants population in the Metro Detroit area.

Many of my students came from war zone/torn areas and had very limited schooling in their first language.

This year we are starting a MakerSpace in our school and my students are in need of different types of tapes and 3V batteries to help in constructing their projects. The tape is an easy and safe tool for people of all ages to use for building. It is great for quick prototyping, works on a variety of surfaces, and can be either temporary or permanent. Lots of finished projects utilize tape in some manner, as a way to adhere to things to each other, to cover a jagged edge of a part, or to decorate. Here are some suggestions for tapes my students could use:

Double sided sticky tape, Masking tape, Clear packing tape, and Duct tape.

The 3V batteries will help my students finish their projects and learn about electricity.

My Project

MakerSpace in the classroom is an amazing resource that allows students to unleash their creativity. The tape and batteries I am requesting for my students will help them in creating many projects during MakerSpace.

I already have a plan for my students to use the materials and explore more projects such as Power of Tower, Bridge to Nowhere, Catapults and many more...

The tape and batteries are going to be used for multiple projects.

I plan on using the tape throughout the year and for different projects. The 3V batteries are going to be specifically used during the Electricity/ Energy Unit.
