My Students

Our incredible middle school students represent neighborhoods from throughout the borough of Brooklyn, New York. We also represent a unique district (District 75) within the city of New York that is comprised of students with unique abilities and challenges, and this is in addition to the daily struggles and challenges that are faced by their hardworking families from across this city.

In spite of everything, our students are resilient, brilliant, and they motivate me to try to be the best version of myself each day.

My Project

My students are very curious makers who get excited about learning about new tools and techniques for creating things. This year, we are focused on being in charge of our technology and using it to empower our lives, rather than letting technology take over our lives.

Having a CNC laser cutter and engraver in the tech lab will allow my students to create precise and detailed engravings, pre-fabricated objects, and objects that they have designed themselves in a 2D CAD program.

This technology goes hand-in-hand with our 3D printer and will provide my students the opportunity to explore geometric relationships, pattern-making, and new software tools that will help them take charge of their creative cravings. Thank you for helping us to make this possible!
