This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
What can we do with a Maker-Bot? We could create gears, spacers, claw-tips and wheel hubs. Sound odd? We are FIRST Robotics Team 3337, Panthrobotics. We build out of our high school and have been wanting a 3d Printer to help us create even more amazing robots.
Our robotics team may be one of the most diverse that you've seen.
We are made up of a variety people made up of different ethnicites. Over 40% of our team is made up of girls. Our school is a Title I public school with a 70% rate of free and reduced lunch. We are made up of programmers, artists, builders, designers. . . you name it and we have it.
My Project
We will be using the Maker-Bot to create parts for our robot. By providing students the opportunities to design and create parts on their own, we are aiding them in developing skills for when they enter both into the university and eventually into the workforce.
This project will make a huge difference in the lives of my students.
3d printing is something that is a relatively new technology and by providing our students access you will help us be prepared to enter the ever changing workforce. Thank you!!
