My Students

Worrying about food, money, transportation, and clothing are adult worries, yet many of the students at my school face these "grown-up" problems each day. In spite of the challenges they face, my students constantly rise to the occasion and frequently blow me away with their ability to learn.

My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Some have and some do not. It is my job to level their playing field so that all have a chance to be successful. Through hands-on, exciting and active assessment, all students in my second grade, inner-city classroom prove themselves time and time again.

My Project

I have had a piano in my regular education classroom every year since I have been teaching. I have taught countless science, math, language arts, and social studies lessons with parodies and songs that I wrote to engage students in the arts and help them retain the learning through music. Recently, the keyboard that I have in my classroom has started to become unreliable for classroom instruction. I have used the current keyboard for 13 years, and it is time for an upgrade. My students benefit so much through a classroom piano. Many days we end our day reviewing in song as we gather around the piano just like a family. Music Makes Us Smile In Class! I am requesting a new, modern, reliable keyboard so that I can continue to foster a love of music and learning with my students.

My kids are the best!

They deserve the best in every aspect of life, especially in their education. Help me to help them achieve their best by partnering with me to get them these needed items for our classroom.
