My Project

I work with students from all over the world--between us, we have 10 different home languages! One thing my students have in common is that they are all learning English at school. Well, sort of. My current group of kiddos has been in the United States all or most of their lives, actually understand English very well, and can read and write English, too. What they need to work on is speaking!

My students need technology tools so they can analyze how they speak English, and learn how to improve their oral fluency.

Students will use headsets and microphones to record short videos on their iPads several times a week. Then, they will listen to each other's recordings and give each other feedback on where they're doing well and how they can improve. When they take their English tests again in February, they will be ready to shine!

The iPad cords and USB splitter will ensure students are never stuck with anything to do because their device isn't charged. The headsets will let them clearly record themselves. The projector and document camera will allow us to all be on the same page as we analyze speech samples and consult the rubric.
