My Project

I teach an amazing group of middle school students (ages 11-14) who have a diagnosis of Autism. I have been teaching for 17 years, but only have taught this population for the past 7. Of all the years of teaching special needs students, these have been the most rewarding and where I felt I've made the most impact. One domain in which I teach is called Domestic Maintenance. This is where they learn kitchen safety, how to measure, sequencing skills, how to follow directions, how to identify cooking utensils, how to word as a team and how to clean up after themselves.
