My Project

Our math teachers have been working to increase the number of students involved in math thinking and problem solving. A few have already starting using principles from the book "Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics" by Peter Liljedahl as a guide for this work, which includes having students do their learning collaboratively on vertical white boards.

When we make student thinking vertical, visible and erasable, they are more likely to "get in" on the math.

This project will allow more teachers to try out this approach to math teaching and learning.
