My Project

Since meeting my students this year, I've learned they are highly motivated by stickers! This year's freshman are creative and excited about learning. As we decorated their interactive notebooks that they will continue to use all year round, I found that they were very interested in decorating with stickers. As we participated in activities, they were very interested in little knick-knacks I had around the classroom, like fidget toys and pop sockets.

These materials will help me to provide small incentives to students who demonstrate pride in their learning, their school, and their community.

I plan to use the stickers as rewards and prizes in their interactive notebooks to make learning interesting for the students. The stickers will be used as special incentives when students are on task and/or take pride in their work. The fidget toys will be used as a reward for those students who take initiative in caring for the classroom and/or their classmates. The washi tape will be given to students who will decorate their notebooks, showing pride in their work and their progress in learning. I aim to encourage students to practice these values at school, which will help to make our classroom a more warm and inviting space, which will then encourage their growth as students and people.
