Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are bright eyed and starving for knowledge. My Pre-K-1 children are like a sponge. They want to learn everything and they learn so much by using their senses and intuition. Although my students are on the Autistic spectrum, they are just as curious and want what all children want which is to have fun, be accepted by their peers and mentors, feel safe and comforted, and explore the world around them. They want to experience and learn new things.

My Project

Using manipulatives helps students stay on task. It allows them to use items rather than working off of worksheets. They will be using the Alphabet Learning Locks and the Hands-On Number Grid. The Snap-Bots and Button Sorting Center will be a great addition to their independent play schedules! The Word Bags and Word Locks will enhance their reading readiness! The Following Directions Building Set will build confidence! Students enjoy interacting with materials and figuring out how to make things work.

My students will be engaged and learn in an environment that they enjoy and will be apt to work for longer periods of time without losing focus!

Using engaging and interactive materials will help my students with their socialization skills, independence, academics and motor skills. Being able to supply them with fun and new ways to learn will help them want to take on greater tasks and build endurance.
